Dumb D&D Race Romance Crap (Don't Look. Unless You Really like Swords.)
The Edged Gnolruks are a peculiar subrace of the standard Gnolruks, having complete apathy towards firearms and a love for swords that doesn't border on obsession, it IS obsession (of the finest quality, they always add).
In fact, when deciding on how one would easily identify the forms of romance observed by the subrace, the vote was a unanimous "SWORDS!" The basics of these types of romance will be descibed here.
The Khopesh: Centered around inspiring courage in one who inspires the same in you.
The Foil: Centered around forcing someone to bravery because it would help them in the future. It can only be considered this type of romance if the partner does the same for/to you.
The Flamberge: Centered around drawing motivation from an individual who stands up for their causes, so that they might draw motivation from you for the same reason.
The Katana: Centered around forcing someone to fight for the sake of fighting, leading them to do the same for you when you lack aggressiveness.
The Samingeom: Centered around fighting ceaselessly for oneself, simply because you care about yourself enough. Stands out from the rest as it is a single-person romance.
The Claymore: Centered around taking control so as to remove belligerence from the partner, calming them down.
The Gladius: Centered around fighting the partner, no holds-barred, no-punches pulled, so as to increase the might of both.
The Scimitar; Centered around forcing the partner to stop holding back, even if they want to keep holding back, so that they'll do the same for you in return.
The Dha: Centered around building up the partner's defenses through pain-training, resulting in the same being done to you.
One interesting part of Edged Gnolruk romance is the emotion found in each and every one: Pride. Every form of romance to this (sub)race relies on that single, unerring force, but are completely distinct because of the methods used to show such pride.
