✾ - Why I chose my character
Oh wow where do I even begin.
I mean in short, I just absolutely a d o r e Riku to pieces. The amount of masterful and intricate development put into him is just utterly mindblowing. Say what you will about the KH franchise, but the precise work they’ve put into this character is nothing more than incredible. Anti-heroes are damned hard to pull off and even more-so to make them likable in the end. I can’t tell you how many movies, games, etc etc where I’ve seen the anti-hero shift constantly between the borders of good and evil so sloppily. It’s so poorly executed a lot of times, or over-dramatized to a point where the drive for an anti-hero is just decimated by the writers.
But they didn’t do that with Riku. With him, they wrote every single crucial factor into his games—going from the point of where he turned to the Darkness—coming out of the Darkness and denying of what a demon he is—coming acceptance—and then on the path to redemption. But holy crap did his redemption come hard, he struggled to get to that point. To the point where he could forgive himself for what he had done, for what his mistakes had caused.
My muse is a character that exceeds most in their limits and development—and no one can tell me other-wise.
Sunny Days (Tidus and Yuna)
With the sun's harsh rays glaring down upon her, the brunette rubbed at one of her arms. Skin that was once milky in colour, had gained a dash of pink. Yuna was beginning to feel as though she was being cooked.
"You're sure you know the way?" she inquired to the blond ahead of her. It wasn't as though she didn't have faith in him, but the pair had been wandering around for some time. She was beginning to feel like they were lost. The last time she could recall being lost in a sea of sand was when she was with another blonde-- the very blonde they were in search of. That hadn't ended well. In fact, it had almost ended disasterifically. She had good reasoning to be concerned. Didn't she?
An arm lifted to shield the sun as the gunner came to a halt. She peered up into the sky above, where she spotted no clouds, before peering forward to the dunes ahead, where she spotted no sign of a digging camp. The situation wasn't looking too good. Yuna allowed her eyes to trail across Tidus' back; it seemed as though he was only getting more tan rather than slowly turning into the lobster that she was. She smiled softly, feeling certainty settle into her.
Even if we're lost, we'll find a way to be found.
