Headcanons/Premise ideas:
🌸Kotetsu manages to convince Kozo and Hotaru to let him tag along in sword deliveries. It takes a lot of persuasion to the village head to let him because the village is quite protective of its children. But he said he tried to convince Kozo it would be a learning experience for him. Kotetsu became friends with Senjuro thanks to these visits.
✨And its also how he met Senjuro, the Caterpillars and Ubuyashiki children too. He gets to see the Caterpillars a lot more because most deliveries are at the Butterfly mansion where injured slayers are.
🐛Kotetsu's relationship with the girls is quite faulty. Especially with Sumi, they have this enemy-frenemy thing going on. Sumi just finds him insufferable. And Kotetsu finds her too "prissy" to hangout with.
🐛But somehow despite their fallouts, give it a week and theyre back to mildly insulting each other but hang around anyway. Just think of how elementary kids act around. each other.
🌸Kotetsu met Kiriya once when he joined Kozo on a delivery to the Butterfly estate. Amane left Kiriya for awhile in the waiting area when Kotetsu arrived with Kozo. Kozo told him to just wait by the seats so Kotetsu came over to Kiriya. They had a lighthearted chat and Kotetsu was unaware of Kiriya's prestiege.
🌸Another visit where they go to the Pillars HQ/Ubuyashiki estate, Kotetsu wandered off for awhile and came across the eldest Ubuyashiki girls. Thats when he first met Kanata , he was smitten lol🤣 Kuina kept giving him the judgemental side eye. Out of intuition alone, Kotetsu can tell which twin is which. Possible happy reunion between Kotetsu and Kiriya
🌸Cue for other Ubuyashiki girls to be judgemental of any guy who goes near on one of their sisters.
🌸🐛Caterpillars and Ubuyashiki's daughters get along well. Sumi and Kuina are bffs
🔥Kotetsu and Senjuro met when he was training to be a medic at the estate. They tried to keep in touch through visits and letters.
🔥Senjuro and Kiriya are closer friends. Both confide in the daily pressures and worries as heirs. And comings and goings within the slayer corporation. Senjuro is very understanding and comforting , also acts as a wiser older brother for Kiriya to hold on to.
🔥Senjuro is popular among the Caterpillars. They're like his little fanclub. Mostly Kiyo and Naho are too focused on fawning over him. Whereas Sumi is too busy arguing with Kotetsu.
