     IT  STANDS  TO  REASON  that  when  you  expect  something  of  someone,  you  can  be  disappointed  with  what  you  receive.  a  notion  he  learned  when  he  was  but  a  young  and  foolhardy  lad.  his  mother  was  sensible  with  her  teachings,  however,  and  taught  him  of  many  things.  one  being  that  he  must  not  allow  assumptions  to  rule  over  him,  or  he  will  be  met  with  a  life  full  of  sorrow  and  spite.
