Headcanon: Honor

For a thief, Zidane’s actually rather honorable. Note: for a thief. Stealing, cheating and even lying a bit — that goes without saying. These things happen constantly with him, and that’s not about to change with him.
But what he perceives as honor — having the integrity to do what’s right even in bad situations, defending the things you love and believe in — that is something he carries with him from day-to-day. As far as reputation and respect go, he doesn’t really care; in fact, he probably has no honor in that respect. He’s a thief, and a known thief, and many people probably would look down and spit on him.
The honor he thinks of isn’t by any means conventional, since it’s a bit bent in order for him to get away with some of the activities he does — but his heart is in the right place, and he does everything to uphold this ideal of his.
