Hey rythian. Some friends and I are starting a shadow run campaign and I was wondering if you have any tips.
Play different characters that will all have interesting interactions with one another, but (and this is very important) play characters that HAVE A REASON TO WORK TOGETHER.
So many people decide to make their loner characters, their evil characters, their backstabbing ones, the ones who don’t really want to adventure. And while that is not a bad idea, (it can be super interesting) it just doesn’t work for actual RP, since the nature of the game means you’re going to team up. You’re going to party together, and you’re going to defend and help each other to reach a goal.
It’s just easier and the game and story will flow better if the characters are on the same page in that regard. People can still be unique and not everyone needs to love each other and be the best of friends, but people won’t screw each other over and make things difficult for the GM and the other players because “that’s what my character would do.”
On that note, have an awesome campaign. Shadowrun is an awesome setting, and tabletop RPGs are awesome fun.
