working at her aunt’s dinner as a waitress with stupid skates on had been the most humiliating thing that karlie had ever done. her parents had all the money in the world but were sick of her acting like a brat and wanted to teach her a lesson. no need to say that when she’d seen the group of hot cops entering the dinner, she’d wished she could’ve disappeared far from there. not because she wasn’t up for it. after all, who would resist such an opportunity to shine, right? but because she didn’t want them seeing her like that. no need to say that when the better looking one left his number on the table, it took everything in her to throw the napkin away because she refused to let him now everything he’d said to her that night had worked like a charm. call her dumb for being so stubborn but she liked to be chased, not the other way around. that night, when she'd jumped into the lake completely naked to prove to her friends that this dare was completely childish and easy, she didn’t expect them to call in the cops on her and ditch her. coming out of the water, karlie didn’t even try to hide anything, thinking that maybe she’d get lucky and end up with some corrupted cop. she put one hand above her eyes as the bright lights of the cop car made it impossible for her to see clearly until she finally did and realized what her friends’ plan had been all along. ‘’you’ve got to be kidding me.’’ she murmured to herself, kind of hating life for letting him see her in her most vulnerable moments not once but twice. @swthnxy
