Loud Annoyances
shout-out to @fer8girl for the inspiration of this!
The ship was peacefully quiet, only the soft hiss of the air filters creating any sound.
Orentha exhaled.
Slow inhale.
Pause.
Exhale.
Repeat.
Gradually her muscles relaxed; her mind emptying until it was her and the Force.
Silence.
Inhale.
The ship’s door creaked open, followed by a tremor in the Force, the-
The annoying doctor from Balmorra was back on board.
Orentha listened to his boots thud up the stairs, thud across the floor, and thud down into the med-bay. Where he sounded as thought he was stomping as loud as he could and trying his utmost to make as loud a racket as possible.
Slow inhale.
Pause.
Exhale.
She softened her posture, feeling the Force again.
Doc was coming back up the stairs again. It was that, or someone had brought a Taun-Taun on board to roam.
“Hey, Orentha,” the doctor drawled. “You wouldn’t mind some company, would you?”
“I am trying to meditate. Alone.”
“Aw, you don’t want Ol’ Doc’s company?”
Orentha opened her eye and mustered as much dislike as she could into the glare. “I am going to ignore you now.”
He smirked. “You can try, but you’ll be missing me in five minutes.” Doc winked and thundered back down to the med-bay. “I’ll be waiting for you, Gorgeous!” he hollered.
She went in search of ear plugs.
'Don't give me that face. It's so cute, I might not be able to hold back' - Doc or Orannus ^,^
well fam you know if you give me two and tell me to pick, I gotta do both
Orannus
“Eeeeeeelaaaaaaarrrrrraaaaaa.”
She didn’t look up from the immunization she was preparing, trying to focus and ignore him.
“Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelaraaaaaaaaa.”
“Sir.” She picked up the shot and gazed at him, eyebrow arched to quell his teasing. “You need a booster for the Tarisian flu.”
Orannus swung his legs on the cot, smiling boyishly. “Don’t give me that face, Dorne. It’s so cute, I might not be able to hold back.”
“Please roll up your sleeve.”
“I though shots were given in the ass?” He wiggled his eyebrows. “I wouldn’t mind.”
She fought her smile. “I’ll keep that in mind. Your sleeve, Sir.”
Doc
“Ree!” Doc frowned at the med-bay. “What did you do?”
She stared back, confused. “I made the cot?”
“It was perfectly messy! I had the blankets layered just right.” He dramatically sighed and threw himself against the wall, arm covering his eyes. “I’ll never have a good night’s sleep ever again.”
She snorted. “Uh-huh.”
He lifted his arm and grinned. “Don’t give me that face, Ree; it’s so cute I might not be able to hold back.”
Riya crossed her arms. “Oh?” she asked playfully, eyes lighting up with… hope? “Hold back from what?”
“This.” Doc bounded across the room and enveloped the Jedi in a bear hug. “Thanks for making the bed, Ree.”
“Doc!” Her voice was muffled against his shirt. “Doc, I need to breathe and you smell.”
“I what?” he asked incredulously as he released her. “I don’t… smell. Do I?” He lifted his shirt and sniffed. Clean, some cologne on it…
She was grinning. “I never said you smelled bad.”
“ i remember our first kiss. ” Riya/Doc
“Hey Ree,” Doc crooned from the bottom of the stairs. “Just couldn’t resist my charms, could you?” He held up his arms for a hug. “How’re you doing today? Need anything looked at by ol’ Doc?”
She chuckled into his shoulder. “I need Ol’ Doc to examine why he’s referring to himself in the third person.”
“Because a certain Jedi finds it charming, Gorgeous.”
“I wonder where that Jedi is,” Riya fired back.
He sighed and relax his arms around her; grinning. “You know, I remember our first kiss. Right here, outside the med-bay.”
She looked like she was trying to hold back laughter. “Oh, do you?”
“Yeah, you looked beautiful, and I, of course, looked as dashing as ever.” He leaned in close. “I remember it like it was yesterday.”
Riya burst out into laughter. “It was yesterday.”
“No,” he uttered, aghast. “It can’t’ve been that long.” Doc wriggled his eyebrows. “How ‘bout giving Ol’ Doc another kiss before he forgets how amazing you are at it?”
“I’m amazing at it, am I?”
“As good as me, I’d bet.”
Riya draped her arms around his shoulders, angling her face closer. “Maybe I might forget what a kiss from you is like too. I don’t want to forget.”
“We can remind each other.” Doc’s voice was hushed, arms circling her as she shifted towards him, his head tilted towards hers; an endless galaxy of freckles on her skin.
And they kissed, smiles on their lips.
Distracting Kiss prompt for whoever. :D
I think it’s safe to say Doc is very good at distracting Riya and she’s completely fine with that
“Hey Ree.”
“Meditating.” Riya listened to his boots tread across the floor over to her. His hands were soft as they settled on her shoulders. “Doc,” she protested halfheartedly.
“Hm…. Don’t you know there’s better ways to relax?” He kneeled next to her, lips blazing a burning path from the back of her neck to her ear. “Especially since we’re the only ones on board? C’mon, Gorgeous. I miss you.”
She leaned back into him and snorted with laughter. “Doc, we live together on a spaceship.”
“Hey! I don’t get to do this often.”
“Do wha-”
Doc kissed her, mouth smiling against hers.
Riya pulled away after a moment. “I should meditate.”
His eyes were twinkling. “I know, I know, you should. But as my professional opinion, I think there’s lots of ways to meditate. Sometimes with someone else.”
“Oh?” She leaned in close, voice dropping conspiratorially. “And who would this other person be?”
“Oh, I don’t know, I happen to know a charming and handsome doctor. He’s funny, too, Beautiful.” His gaze dropped to her lips as he leaned in closer.
Riya grinned. “Really? Where is he?” She leaned away and looked over Doc’c shoulders.
“Ree,” he groaned.
“Doc, you forgot another thing. You’re wonderful.” She threw her arms around him and pressed her lips to his. “So,” she murmured. “Show me this way to meditate with two people.”
“First we ditch our clothes.”
“Uh-huh….”
(I think it’s fairly obvious what follows.)
'Obviously you can't tell a woman that you just met that you love her, but it sucks that you can't' for Riya/Doc
She was something, Doc decided. She’d barged into the hospital to save him (and with three other Jedi and to save patients, but still. He could pretend, right?) and had done so with some amazing Jedi-lasersword skills.
He was impressed.
Fiery red hair, enough freckles to make it look like she had her own galaxy on her skin, and sharp cybernetics to contrast against the smooth curve of her lips.
She was beautiful.
Sure, he didn’t believe in love at first sight, but there had to be exceptions to that.
This Jedi was definitely one of them.
Doc turned to her sister, who was sitting on the cot behind him. Her cybernetic hearing aids had needed new calibrations. “Obviously you can’t tell a woman that you just met that you love her, but it sucks that you can’t.”
The sister’s head snapped up. Riya, was her name? Yeah, Riya. “What?” she asked in disbelief.
“I might just believe in love at first sight.” Doc picked up his tray of med-packs and whistled as he headed over to introduce himself. “Hey Gorgeous, I’m Doc.”
The Jedi looked at him suspiciously. “Orentha.”
