Scrunkly Week day 6: sidekicks and goons

This was supposed to be the entry for day 5, because I wanted to show a different blorbo per day, but then I said "screw it let's be self indulgent" and that's why there are multiple P03 entries. @scrunkly-week what can I say except, teehee

Purple Mage my belovedddd they became my favourite Everhood character the very first moment I saw them. I adore this design trope (tall, mysterious, shadowy figure with beady eyes, preferably pretty square), so gender. They are lowkey tragic to me, too, having sold their freedom to an evil lord, bound to serve them for the rest of eternity. I'll definitely make a post about them!

Scrunkly Week: Day 6

Being the voice of reason for the Lost Bots is a difficult task. Dimlit's innocence means he'll accept positive information more easily, but the negative can be rough on him. Kikmee's competitive nature means she'll take warnings as challenges, thinking she can handle it when she very clearly cannot. Burgertron's arrogance means he'll only readily listen to an idea if it came from him- or if he thinks it does. And Clogstopper's...well, everything means I can't always determine if I'm getting through to him or not. Still, I must persevere, in hopes that we all avoid at least some of the dangers in this world. And if that should fail...well, I'll just have to protect them another way.

Character Tropes - Wildcard - Maxwell Cassano (OC)

wild card (n): an unknown or unpredictable factor

One thing about unpredictability is that it's dependent on a lack of knowledge, and knowing you lack it. You may not be a wildcard to those you work with, those who know how you operate. But to, say, your family, from whom you've been keeping what you want, what you've been doing, who you've become a secret, the moment you let even a hind of it slip - that's what you become. Are you breaking the family pattern or coming to embrace it? You refuse to let them see enough to tell.

Or, in other words: when you've skittishly shied away for so long from joining your family's criminal empire and became a superhero in secret at the age of 16 and then show a flash of the confidence that's been incubating within yourself (while still keeping your secrets under tight lock), you're gonna throw your dad for a loop. That's the moment you switch from a more-than-reluctant heir to a wildcard.

And as explanation for the cards situation: Max's hero alias is Jack of Diamonds! And at some point I decided I wanted to represent the rest of his family (a little more tangentially) with the spades suit.
