Misty bit her lip as she watched the other blonde, her eyes still heavy and half closed with sleep but a lingering smile played across her lips the longer she looked at Cordelia. She welcomed her wholeheartedly to join her as she perched on the edge of the bed, Misty nuzzling ever so slightly and letting herself be lost for a moment in the scent of Delia’s perfume. In all honestly, she was hardly listening as Cordelia spoke, more concerned instead about enticing the witch back to bed but it was soon obvious to Misty that wasn’t going to happen. With a pleasant smile toward Cordelia, she stretched once more and got out of bed, her wild curls bouncing as she skipped about the room to change out of her Fleetwood Mac t-shirt that she slept in. “Is anyone special comin’ to the ceremony, Dee?” She asked, looking over her shoulder to Cordelia and flashing a playful grin.
Sometimes Cordelia forgot how soft these kinds of mornings were. How long had it been since Delia had traced her hand across Misty’s constellation-like freckles, connecting each one and writing a story in her head? How long since they’d just stayed away from it all, a fortress of pillows and blankets ignoring the sounds of responsibility that droned on above their heads? Cordelia allowed herself these delicacies every now and again, and this second was no different. Letting her fingers traipse across the hills and valleys along Misty’s ribcage, her lips found their way to the witches shoulder, her words shushing over Misty’s skin like a skier on a slope. “Just the girls,” she placed a kiss. “And some department heads.” Another. “And the landowners.” A nip at the skin between teeth flashes for a second, nothing more. “They’re all so very boring, aren’t they? That’s why I need you, baby.” Cordelia places a kiss on Misty’s neck, grinning into the heartbeat she can feel beneath the skin. “You’ll keep me awake.”
