“It bloody worked,” Zelena gasped to herself in awe as she looked around her new environment. She knew these trees, these woods. They were the ones she had seen in the background as her mother placed her upon the forest floor, the same setting she had seen played on a loop in each mirror and flat surface of the Emerald Palace for decades.

And there was the Mill but not too many a pace away. And Zelena briefly wondered when exactly the spell had taken her. Had she been born yet? Would she be able to turn it all around before she had even left the womb? Or was Cora mere moments from stepping out of the door to deposit her firstborn for her own greater good?

Her head was spinning, but it was a hopeful sort of elation. Her time travel spell had worked, and now all she needed was convince Cora to change her fate for the better...

          ❛ if you’re looking for him,  he isn’t here.  he’s not with me. ❜  she could only assume that cora wanted to see rumple, it’s who everyone was after since the curse broke.  they wanted answers from him, and she knew that he had them.  but he wasn’t so easily willing to share details.  it seemed that maybe he hadn’t changed as she previously thought.

It had been a long and exhausting day. Not in that work had been too busy, but in the way where there hadn’t been enough to do. She’d reconstructed all the crime scenes in her backlog before lunch, and after that she’d even gotten so desperate for something to do that she cleaned her work station. Half a pack of electronic wipes later and there was not the slightest hint of a thumb print to be found. (Evelyn couldn’t even really break up the monotony by going past a certain office with the excuse of coffee. Both detectives were out that day, and though she could hardly stand one, the other put a little flutter in her chest.)

So what does one do when they’ve had a long and excruciatingly boring Friday at work? They head to the bar just across the street with Swyft’s app on her phone’s home screen.

And what does one do after an hour and four rum-laden cocktails and they see the aforementioned detectives just walking on in? Apparently it was to be a complete dork and duck behind another patron of the bar.

“I know what this looks like,” she whispered while crouched down, watching as the two gentlemen continued on. “But one of them looks at me as though I’m a ghost he hates and the other...doesn’t drink and hey! You’re the woman I bought a flower from a bit ago!” Evelyn leaned forward a little. “It joined me on a romantic Valentine’s dinner for one. It was pizza.”

      “Grandma! Big news! Really big super big news.” She exclaims as she rushes towards her grandma. No need for hellos her news was even more important. Hands are already dropping her bow on the table and going to grab at her grandmother’s forearms. “Girl! There was this girl. Super pretty girl. Oh god. I made of a fool of myself but she seemed to like me? Like I think she liked me!? What if she doesn’t like me? Oh god...what if she does!?” her simple greeting turned into a full on rant and she couldn’t seem to stop herself.

With Cora by her side it made this whole process a lot easier - as much easier as it could be. Carrying a child to term, having the child, making sure that the kink was certain that the little girl she had given birth to was his. While he so wanted a son a daughter would do. It would have been so much easier to secure the throne with a boy but the king didn’t deny that it was his and Ana was relieved that she managed to make it through all of this without letting the truth slip. Besides, he was rarely around to begin with. 

So small and precious, Ana did not leave her daughter’s side. In fact the bundle was in her arms wrapped in soft shades of Red  when Anastasia came to greet Cora.

There was some small part of herself that felt like a genius, mixing the rest of the potion into the whiskey. She wondered why she hadn’t done this before, and why she didn’t just announce that there were free shots on the street corner, getting everyone to remember one by one. But the more rational part of Regina’s brain knew that wasn’t going to work; she would be lucky if the diluted potion worked at all. If not, she was going to be left looking like a fool, and the one person who could help her was going to think she was insane.

But before they got there, she had to get through step one: small talk. She had run into Millie plenty of times, and since her own memories had been returned, Regina took special care to go down to the flower shop. It was rather amusing to see her mother like this, in casual work clothes and running back and forth between plants, but she knew it had to end. She couldn’t let this nonsense continue, she needed help.

That’s why she’d walked into the flower shop, trying to be as nonchalant as ever when she strode up to the counter. 

“Hey, Millie.” she said with a smile, “How’s the day been?”

Roni. Everyone here knew her as Roni. She could not mess that up. She saw Cora sitting at the bar, but she wasn’t Cora. She was Millie. Gods, this was worse than the curse itself. Now she had to keep up this façade of a woman who didn’t really exist.

“Hey there, Mo-Millie. What can I get ya?” She asked, busying herself with the dirty glasses.
