17: Goofy Kiss

     “That kiss must be truly uncomfortable to do in real life. Can you imagine kissing someone upside down?” 

     Curled up against Samil, head resting on his chest, Bedelia waves vaguely towards the TV as he laughs. It has been raining since the early, the cold snowy days seem suddenly far away, and so is their plan to go for a romantic walk in the park. Instead, they started a movie marathon, snuggling together on the couch under a pile of blankets. 

     “You think so, uh?” His question is followed by a kiss on her forehead before he pauses the movie. “Come on, it’s raining, it’s the perfect time to test that theory.” 

     He’s instantly standing, as if he hadn’t spent the last hours on the couch, holding one hand for her to take, which she does after mumbling that it’s too cold outside and that they’ll get sick. Her complaint is answered by one of his grins, the kind he has when he has an idea that he won’t give up on. 

     Once outside, Samil climbs the nearest tree before hanging upside down, still smiling as he observes her. “Come on, my blood is already rushing to my head, you don’t want to make me wait. Or am I not attractive enough yet?” 

     Arms folded, Bedelia leaves the front porch to walk into the rain until she stands in front of him, head tilted in a quite comical way. “Really?” If she wasn’t smiling, perhaps he would have thought she was annoyed, but she is enjoying the situation too much to be truly upset. 

     “A kiss from the pretty lady and the tree branch will transform into a prince.” His comment makes her laugh, a heartfelt laugh that causes his smile to widen. Bedelia doesn’t need more to unfold her arms, allowing her to cup his cheeks with her hands, before pressing her lips against his for a sweet, yet quite silly kiss under the rain.
