The Gift of Words || Oliver&Gain
It had been cancelled three weeks in a row, either due to his, ahem, personal problems or just the fact that she was unable to make it to the event. But finally, they were both free on the same week so he wasted no time booking the party for tonight, nearly breaking his neck to make sure all went right this evening, going as far as to ensure that even her favorite flowers had been brought in. To anyone else it might been seen as obsessive, but quite frankly he did not a damn what anyone else though.
He had no idea why he was so nervous, he was almost positive she would love his gift, so why was he fidgeting like a student receiving exam scores back? With an exasperated sigh directed at his own ridiculous behavior, Oliver straightened his tie, looking at himself in the washroom mirror to assure himself his attire was still in order and that his hair remained neatly slicked back. Stepping out, the raven haired man returned to the mindless chatter of those who had been invited to the release party, putting on smiles and thanking those who complimented his new work for it's riveting action and the presence of a truly independent female heroine. However, no matter how much these people praised his book, there was only one opinion he truly cared about tonight and she had just walked through the door.
