Disturbing the Norm
Leo breathe out a puff of smoke on his way to the sidewalk corner he frequently been performing at. The chilly weather had drove people crazy in traffic. More cars zoomed by him with wailing honks. Ever since the newscast had predicted snow in his city, everyone is trying to get to their locations before the snow can hinder their schedule. It's a wonder how Leo didn't get hit while crossing the street yet.
He could feel his nose becoming redder. Doubt started to settle in his stomach. Maybe he should take the day off. His violin was starting to get old as it started to lost it's grip on the strings. The cold weather could knock it off of tune much easier. He could just past by the corner and head home. Leo shook the thought out of his head before it digress any further. If the weatherman speaks the truth, then it would take a few days before the opportunity to play will show again. With a more determined walk, his steps guided him to the corner much more quicker.
Almost reaching his spot, he already saw a crowd circling around someone. Guitar strums were easily heard through the noisy crowd. It was a beautiful melody but it was something didn't feel right. He was feeling a bit territorial. It was nice to call something his own. Leo bit his lips and forced himself to listen to the wonderful tune. He realized he was just being childish.
When the song ended, he waited for the crowd to disappear before approaching the guitarist. Leo chuckled into his hand from the realization that he was on the other side for once. The irony was just comical to him. After the crowd left, he bowed his head to the stranger. "My name is Leo. It's nice to meet you." He rose his head and softly smiled to the stranger. "Your music is magnificent. Do you play here often or is this your first time here?" He asked out of curiosity. Maybe the stranger plays here often, just at different times.
