Toshiko had gone nearly a week without feeding. usually she'd have several volunteer shifts a week at the hospital, but with the holiday coming up, they'd requested she worked the weekend as there would be a bigger need for hands then, not during the beginning of the week.
By this point she was nearly shaking. it was like a junkie without their fix. Everyone looked like a meal to her. A parents fighting with their children. Strife. A girl crying over a breakup with a boyfriend. Pain. The near miss in a parking lot where a kid on the bike had almost gotten hit. Chaos.
Chaos.
Her head was throbbing by the time classes had ended. How had she even gotten into her seat. The bell pounded between her ears, so she was up like a shot out of the class, not realizing she'd left her books behind.
Out the back doors and down behind the bleachers. All she wanted was to feed. Her skin was crawling. Beads of seat rolling down the back of her neck.
She didn't hear the footsteps coming up behind her.
