Great Detectives of Old Time Radio Live ( Preachrs Podcast OnLine and OnStage )

A stage revival of “those” radio detective serials – all dramatic pauses, booming sound effects, hard boiled dialogue, (intrusive ad breaks) and double/ triple/ double-squared cross plots – is such a marvellous yet risky idea, it’s a relief to find it in the hands of such capable creatives. Rich in all those “sleuth” ingredients baked by folks from Chandler to Ellroy, a wicked sense of humour, and (it’s the 20-10s) strong female lead Candy Matson in some of the cases. Will delight anyone who wants to relive detective thrillers, loves character and humour laced storytelling, or simply wants to be entertained with something very “old-is-new again” clever.
