So in case anyone was wondering about whats happening in Sydney atm

An armed man has taken an unknown amount of people hostage in a Lindt Cafe in Martin Place. This siege has gone for over 8 hours and in the recent hours 5 have escaped (2 women, 3 men).

They have interviewed people inside and this man, who they had to refer to as the brother, has said that he has 4 bombs set up, 2 in the cafe and 2 elsewhere. He has requested an Isil flag be brought to the cafe and if this is done immediately he will release another person. He has also requested to talk to the Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

All precautions have been taken, buildings have been evacuated and snipers and heavily armed officers have been put in place.

Adelaide and Melbourne have increased police presence in the cbds.
