sydneyphoenix2014 replied to your post “hmmm why did they give Epke credit but not David tho”
@twoflips-threetwists my only thought is that they consider Zepke caught the skill and continued on, with a mistake after the immediate "grasp," and that's why it was given value, and they didn't credit David with a catch? Seems like splitting hairs, though. If you don't get credit for a skill you catch with one hand, seems like you should be actually required to PUT WEIGHT on the hand, so to speak...
idk, I’ll have to go back and watch it but my initial thoughts are that either both or neither should get credited. I know David didn’t follow through with it while Epke did but that’s an execution deduction as far as I’m aware, I’ll have to check. But if it is it shouldn’t affect the credit given

2014?
ehhh its debatable but i think kyla winning a medal was a very real possibility, even tho it didnt look like she would basically until the last rotation. i dont think anyone really counted her out or didnt have her in the conversation for the podium, and she would have been a clear favorite over aliya if she hadnt gotten injured in the weeks before the competition

Did everyone other than the top 2 have a fall?
Carina stayed on, and I didn’t watch Mosokova (though I doubt she got 12.4 with a fall lol). Everyone else fell.

Is the leg separation out of the pike and into the KCH a deduction?
Yes, that’s a deduction. Maybe 0.1 but the judges on the side may miss it because it’s so quick and her line doesn’t change from their point of view
