I never got around to ‘answering’ this, but this is the word I got from Sylheti Language Preservation for reblogging their post.

I love it! :O

I’m not sure of its etymology, but it looks loosely derivative of the Sanskrit वायु [vāyū]. If that is true, then the level of difference excites me!
