94, but that's not much of a surprise: Sylvia was a tough cookie. Also a two-time Oscar-nominee, NYC nightlife fixture, eternal attention-seeker and good sport. Her persona was such that it's much easier to imagine her playing a "mad dead crazed German zombie lesbian ballet dancer” (as she described her character in the 1977 film THE SENTINEL) than to picture her as, say, a suburban housewife with kids, but she livened-up many a movie. And when Andy Warhol had the brilliant idea of starring her in HEAT (1972) - where hers was the sanest character in the film - she played it to the hilt, and as a result HEAT is the funniest, liveliest and most entertaining of the Paul Morrissey/Warhol films.
