How long had they laid here? How many days had it been? They had no idea...but the painful groan in their stomach told them...it had been long enough. Slowly the searing pain had eased, replaced by an ever present soreness at every twitch and movement.
Bleary crimson eyes stared into the wall next to them, seldom blinking...had it not been for the occasional twitch or blink...they could have been mistaken for dead. slowly fingers and toes moved...curling, clenching and relaxing....testing...would they be able to stand? Would they want to...? Cyrus had no idea if this stunt even accomplished anything...but, at the same time...the constant looming shadow, of that damn parasite...was nowhere to be felt. Despite how badly his body felt...his mind felt...clear.
The Wyrm still resided within his body, and he knew and felt him...but...the void was gone...at least for now. He heard a reassuring hum from deep within...Gira felt much better as well it seemed...and he also felt the need to get up and move.
Slowly, carefully...inch by inch...they worked together to move this tired body. Each movement sending a painful soreness...but nothing compared to the hell they put themselves through the last few days. They managed to move into a sitting position, and for now that was good enough for them...it allowed for them to check the damage.
A shaky hand reached to their jaw...relieved to feel it no longer held that broken, mangled split down the middle...no sickly fluid poured from it...it felt healed completely. Moving a little farther, fingers touched a strange protrusion attached to either side of their jaw...pointed...but it caused no pain, nor did it create a busted mandible. Moving upward lead to another strange new addition, sticking from their head on both sides...still not painful, but still odd to the human.
They sat for long enough...forcing their body to move, slowly, into a standing position...using whatever they could reach to help steady them. Moving only seemed to make the dried blood, and black ooze, stick out far too much for either of their comfort....and soon, they turned the shower on...hot water raining down on them...a rush of red and black mixing together as it fell from their body, and down the drain. Even with their throat hoarse from screaming, neither of them could stop the near sigh of relief.
Once finished, the water shut off once more...they just stood there, letting the water fully drip off....Now they just needed to move out of the bathroom...eventually.
