Arc V Month Day 12 - Favorite ships?
I love me some ships, and I’ve got quite a few.
But, I’m gonna talk about one of, if not my favourite ship in Arc V, that it often feels like I’m the only one who actively loves or talks about. For good reason though, seeing as it’s a rarepair through and through, so I don’t blame anyone.
Synchshipping
Maaan did this one hit me like a freaking bullet train at full speed. And the most they’ve interacted is through synched up minds only one of them was aware of, I sure picked a winner :,D But on a serious note, I find the thought of a relationship between Yuya and Yugo to be incredibly heartwarming and wholesome.
Yuya who tends to get stuck in a loop of uncertainty and worry, would get alot of good from Yugo’s forward and ‘no use worrying!’ attitude, he’d tell him not to worry so much and just do what he thinks feels right. Yugo would have no backstory on Yuya’s dad, and if he ever found out he probably wouldn’t care much, and I think Yuya would find that very relieving? He’d just be Yuya in Yugo’s eyes, with no knowledge of his hard childhood or former frail emotional state, he can just be himself and relax. Not having someone who worries so much about him and how he’s doing and believing he’d be fine, is something I think Yuya would really appreciate.
Yuya in turn would also ground Yugo, nudge him in the right direction when he loses track or messes up. Not in a nagging or stern way Rin would do sometimes, but gently, and perhaps without him even noticing Yuya was doing it. Also I kinda headcanon that Yugo isn’t that used to being treated gently or carefully, and Yuya would do def do that and it’d be new and weird but not in a bad way?
I think you can see hints of what relationship they could have when they synch up during the tournament. Plus it’s literally the only time Yuya has even a semblance of a good time when resonating with any of his counterparts. And he has such a fun time! I don’t think it’s an overexaggeration that Yuya’s happier moments in the Synchro arc are when he and Yugo resonate, he sounds like all his worries have lightened off his shoulders.
They’d be equals, do the most crazy shit on D-Wheels and their monsters, and just enjoy being together.
It’s cute and fluffy and I absolutely adore it.
