“Synclinal hills and anticlinal valleys.” Earth sculpture or the origin of land-forms. 1898.

The axis of an asymmetrical syncline; here involved are Lower Pleistocene fluvial deposits.
Fault Bend Fold Not every fault on the planet reaches the surface. In fact, most of them don’t. Many faults form at depths of several kilometers below the Earth’s surface and as they move, the rocks around them can be bent and folded without breaking.
Released on June 25th, 2021, listen to the new max-single Syncline by Digital Gnosis. Both tracks began as seeds and elements created in Endlesss, a powerful always-looping audio studio/plugin that uniquely is cloud-based and easy for anyone to participate and build upon, remix and transform sounds.
The first track was created as a submission for the Unfolding #1 challenge, which feature sonic elements from a few of the several participating artists (Afta8, Firephly, Littlewing), then further transformed. The subsequent track invited the 3 artists back to jam in Endlesss on segments and clips, exploring new sonic paths, which Digital Gnosis used to transform the first track radically into the 9-minute, bassline driven electronica track that it became.
Shorter hike, but it turns out the coast is prettier than inland.
The forbidden ice cream cone is high on my list of buildings to eat, even if the air force would be big mad.
This little overhead arch of Cypress trees was quite pretty, coastal Cypress as a whole is a lovely incredibly figured plant.
Making it down the bluffs to the beach wà exciting, since the local sandstone is incredibly weathered and the syncline gives the shore a unique figure.
This new tree working it's way out of an old piece of drift(?)wood was amazing.
All together a satisfying hike that make me think I should get a CPL filter for the camera so water comes across a little better
Almost perfect! (northern Peru).
Folding
Sedimentary layering in rocks helps to clearly visualize deformations that the rock has undergone. Here, we can see a result of compression applied in sideways fashion (from the sides), this causes the rock to buckle without breaking and a series of anticlines and synclines (concave and convex structures).
