Vow of Thieves
Things I liked:
- They got married!!!!!! Oh my god! I love Jase and Kazi so much. The way that Jase ripped into his family when he found out that they gave her up to the King because they thought she killed Jase. Like him just screaming out that she is his wife was everything I needed.
- Jase and Kazi are just so deeply in love in this book and it pushes them even farther and harder. Like it makes the pace of the book so amazing. The duel POV’s really help with this too.
- Kazi is even more of a badass in this book. And I didn't even think that would be possible honestly. Even though she knew that Jase’s family would hate her if she didn't have him to explain she put herself in danger to save Nash and Lydia. I think that says a lot about who Kazi is as a person.
- I was so excited to read that Pearson didn't kill off all of Jases family. One of my biggest pet peeves in books is when characters are killed off for no reason. I was happy that Pearson didn't rely on that gimmick to make the story amazing.
Things I didn't like:
- I wish that Jalaine got to live. Like I would have loved for all of Jase’s family to survive and live happily even after. But I can live with her death because it wasn't really used to push the story along in a big way. And Jase did get to say goodbye to her before she actually died.
Overall:
- Such a great ending to the year. I finished this book the afternoon of the 31st. So I ended 2021 on such a high note. Go out and read the Dance of Thieves Duology right now. It was so much fun to read. The romance was AMAZING. Just so much love and devotion pours out of this book.
- Rating: 5/5
She lifted her bow and slowly pulled back, poised and calm as if she had choreographed every breath and breeze. Seconds passed and she finally let the arrow fly.
...
Synové’s eyes narrowed, a grin still on her lips. “I guess I was wrong. He’s not alone out there after all.”
Dance of Thieves
Things I liked:
- The relationship between Kazi and Jase was so sweet. Just the way they both slowly fell for one another even though they both knew it was a bad idea. The whole being chained together part of the story. It was really a very cute love story.
- The whole Ballenger family were so cute. The way they all loved each other unconditionally. They really felt like a real family. The way Person wrote them was fantastic.
- I loved that at the end Kazi chose to help Jase even though he thought she betrayed him. Like she went to the queen and vouched for Tors Watch to become a kingdom. And how Lia took that and turned it all the way around and gave Jase the opportunity to bring Kazi back with him.
- The fact that Rafe and Lia are married and have a baby together. And Kaden and Pauline are still together. Just made me so happy you wouldn't even believe me.
Things I didn't like:
- So this isn't really a bad thing, but at the end when they showed the note about Samuel I was very sad. She better not kill off Jase’s entire family. I will be so mad if she does that to this sweet boy.
Overall:
- This book was so amazing! Im obsessed with it. Kazi is the best. Jase is the best. All the characters were so amazing. The story was so fun. I loved reading every word. It had such a great pace the entire time. The enemies to lovers trope is very real with this book. So far, the continuation of the world is really great.
