In this workshop we will explore the basic concepts of analog subtractive synthesis. We will dive into theory, or what is actually physically happening in the machine, and more importantly we will thoroughly explore signal flow and patch creation on the Waveformless large format modular system. The modular synthesizer as a learning tool is the most direct path to understanding what is happening in any analog synthesizer you use, as it is a visual and tactile way to trace signal flow and the relationship between modulation source and destination.
