Australia's Caligula are back with their first new album in 25 years, bringing their goth tinged electro rock, returning as a band renewed —powerful, relevant, and unapologetically true to themselves
After a 25-year wait, ARIA-nominated electro-rock outfit Caligula return with their long-awaited new album Bloodlines, a powerful and deeply atmospheric record that reaffirms the band’s place as one of Australia’s most distinctive gothic-tinged rock acts.
Blending their signature goth groove, brooding electronics and driving rock energy, Bloodlines explores themes of love, loss, fear and redemption. The album captures the emotional depth and dark romanticism that defined Caligula’s rise in the 1990s while pushing their sound into bold new territory.
Fronted by Ash Rothschild, along with founding members Jamie Fonti on keyboards/guitar and brother Sean Fonti on bass, joined by Kyle Barr on drums and guitarist Mark Tobin; Caligula delivers a collection of tracks that are both deeply personal and universally relatable, shaped by years of reflection and the creative bond that has always propelled the band.
To celebrate the release, Caligula will perform two exclusive album launch shows in Sydney & Melbourne, giving fans a rare chance to experience the new material live alongside classic tracks from the band’s celebrated catalogue.
With ‘Bloodlines’, Caligula return not simply as a nostalgic act, but as a band reborn — powerful, relevant and unapologetically themselves.
Originating from early 90s Sydney, Caligula brought an electronic twist to alternative rock with their guitar-driven sound. Their standout cover of "Tears Of A Clown" made them favourites on Triple J and Triple M, led to tours alongside international icons, and earned them an ARIA nomination.
After reviving the band in 2018, Caligula has released several singles and an EP, and now prepare their long-awaited second album release.
