This is what Im on now. I was on a T4 medication for about 4 years, and didnt feel well at all! Now, I can lose weight ( baby weight and mostly what I gained while on T4) feel much better, and most of my symptoms have gone away! I am seeing more people with Hashi’s say how T3 is what is workin for them! Doctors need to start listening to their patients! We have to take charge of our life again and figure out what makes us feel “normal” again.
For the last couple months I've been taking birth control pills and Synthyroid pills. Today my doctor told me that taking the two together at the same time can cause more damage to my thyroid AND not allow the birth control to do its job. Seriously?! She could have told me this when she prescribed the medicine to me...
Does anyone have a recommendation of which pill I should take in the morning and which in the evening?
21lbs down in 3.5 months...
keep 'em coming.
Oh right, thyroid update.
I've had hypothyroidism for like almost 10 years. But once they got me on the right medicine and dose I haven't had any serious issues with it. Even through my whole pregnancy with Serenity. But a couple of weeks ago my thyroid levels were off so they fixed my dosage and I still felt like crap a week later so I was told to go see my thyroid doctor. (My obgyn was handling it while I'm pregnant but when the medicine they were giving me wasn't working it's kinda out of their hands and they have to send me to someone who specializes in that area). So I call my thyroid doctor only to find out that he is out of the country and may or may not be coming back and even if he does come back that he going to be leaving the practice in a few weeks and she advised to find a whole new doctor. So I called all around here looking for a new thyroid doctor that accepts my insurance only to find out that there are none. I will be traveling pretty far to get to a thyroid doctor. But that's okay. Because as long as things are okay I will only have to see them like once every 6 months.. So I called the obgyn to let them know I was having issues finding a doctor that can see me soon and they told me that my thyroid levels are back to normal so I still need to go to see the thyroid doctor but there doesn't have to be a rush on it.. My thyroid is inactive. It's completely useless. And I have a goiter. If it decides to keep acting up they are going to take it out. Which doesn't really bother me too much because I will have to take a pill everyday for the rest of my life with it being in or being out since it's completely inactive.
Bottom line is- my thyroid levels are back on track for the time being. And we are going to be okay..
Hypothyroidism.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism like over 10 years ago. I've been on the same medicine and dose almost the entire time. I have to take the brand name thyroid hormone because the generic has no affect on me. I ran out of medicine so I got a new prescription on Friday. I didn't go to pick it up until after their office closed. They called in the generic form. So I had to wait until today to get them to fix it because they were closed yesterday. I went 4 days without my medicine! And now I am really feeling awful. But as it turned out my thyroid hormone results from Wed. Were too low so they had to change the dose for the first time in 10 years. Bottom line is it was a bunch of crap but I should be feeling a lot better in a few days.
