She gave him a cautious glance. "Spit it out!"
And the roll is...17!=========He looked at her gravely. "Winter is coming."
syntl submitted:
She approached a face she knew well. One that did not know hers in return. At least, she wasn’t sure if he knew her. Irikah and her had been very close, but she could not know if she ever spoke of her. In all fairness, she had only seen his likeness in photos with her cousin and heard the stories her cousin had told her. She had been away with her studies. But she knew him…at least the him he used to be. “Thane,” she said quietly, careful not to use his last name. “It is good to finally meet you. I am Syn.” She gave him a formal bow and per Citadel greeting custom, she offered him her hand. “I think, perhaps, we should talk.”
Thane stiffened at the sound of his name. Even though the voice did not use his surname, few enough knew him by any of his real names that it was a surprise. He turned rapidly, faced the other drell with a narrow gaze.
There were few enough drell on the Citadel that he ought to have been able to place the face, but he could not; she was a stranger. He looked at the offered hand, took it warily. "A pleasure," he said, polite even in caution. "Should we? You'll forgive me if I ask how you know my name."
A Chance Meeting
syntl:
She approached the unfamiliar drell. She had been seeing more of her kind aboard the Citadel than she ever had since she moved here. He seemed familiar to her, but that was oddly unrealistic, as she didn’t forget a face. Then it dawned on her. She’d never met the man, but she had seen his picture. She’d been adopted into a large family in her youth, when both her parents died of Kepral’s. Her adopted cousin, Irikah had married him. “I know you,” she said softly, unable to believe she was seeing him. Her cheek folds flushed with color.
Thane had just been going for a walk, that was all--a walk around the Citadel to stretch his legs, not go looking for trouble, and perhaps even browse the weaponry counter before returning to the Normandy for the evening. Therefore, when an unfamiliar voice said I know you, alarms went off in his head--with a drell's memory, he should have recognized the voice right away.
Though he feared the worst, he kept his expression mild and turned to face the speaker, a female drell. "I beg your pardon," he said quietly, "Have we met?"

When taking an elevator the drell would share it with the two starborn. Vallery would politely nod her head to Syntl in greeting while Nesh was distracted with the elevator ceiling for a moment. The elevator moved on, but not for long. It suddenly stopped, getting dark. The starborn's red and blue glowing marks the only subtle light in the dark. They were stuck.
"And now we all get murdered." The salarian looking said with a giggle. Vallery joined her with a chuckle before snapping her fingers, a light orb appearing and floating next to her head. "You still need to teach me how to do that. I can only do flames." Nesh said.
