SYRENE (stylized as 𝕾𝖄𝕽𝕰𝕹𝕰; 시레네) is a 7-member South Korean girl group formed by HOTLINE Studio. The group consists of Siae, Kaiya, Blair, Chloé, Yara, Aini, and Hana. They debuted on May 26, 2020 with a siren-mythology-inspired concept that blends oceanic mystique, cinematic storytelling, and high-fashion visuals. HOTLINE Studio was later acquired by HYBE Corporation, making SYRENE part of HYBE Labels, while HOTLINE continues to operate as an independent subsidiary label. SYRENE is widely regarded as one of the leading forces of the Korean Wave and is often referred to as the “Nation’s Golden Girls.”
They made their Japanese debut on July 3, 2023 with the single Perfect World. On February 2, 2022, it was announced that SYRENE signed with Universal Music Group for global promotions.
Group Name Meaning: SYRENE (시레네) is derived from the mythological Sirens enchanting beings whose voices could lure souls across oceans and worlds.
The name represents duality: beauty and danger, elegance and power, humanity and myth. SYRENE’s concept centers on crossing realms between the human world and the siren realm through music, performance, and visual storytelling.
