HEY HEADS UP: Originally I wanted to make a PROGRAMMED SYSTEM EXCLUSIVE version of this term as well, with the original name (Potentially Unwanted Program). However, I wasn’t able to come up with a meaning that made sense, at least with my limited knowledge of PROGRAMMED SYSTEMS. This heads up is basically to say that any PROGRAMMED SYSTEM can suggest or create a PROGRAMMED EXCLUSIVE version of this term. THANK YOU. I once again apologize for the TYPING QUIRK. LOVEBUG will type the rest of this.
a type of Grayware or potentially Badware, PUPs are beneficial or neutral alters which are at least partially some kind of Grayware or Badware. Some, however, may be beneficial or neutral alters which are still disliked by the system or specific alters and/or is targeted by the Systems Antivirus/AntiBadware due to engaging in media or behaviors the systems/alter(s) dislike (ei: piracy, profic, etc).
Badware are alters in a system that act similarly or exactly like malware in computer systems. This can include behaviors like infection, spreading, causing system “bugs” and crashes, etc- but what exactly constitutes a “Badware” will obviously differ system to system.
You may ask me questions about Badware behaviors if you’d like because I don’t wanna write it all down here.
A kind of Spyware, the kind of which can be considered either Badware or Grayware, which is either “employed” by or part of some sort of central authority within the system to spy on other alters and send that data directly to them. The authority can also be outside the system, in the case of knowledgeable abusers, RAMCOA, and/or OEA.
Policeware
Similar to govware, policeware is also employed by a higher authority within the system. Policeware, however, are never a part of the authority themselves and usually only spy within certain assigned areas of the system. They can be considered a lower level of authority under Govware.
A kind of Virus Badware which acts as a Badware for fun (for themself at least). Infections by this kind of Badware is usually nondestructive, with the Badware just messing with those it has infected. However, it can accidentally “overwrite” the personality of fragments or alters with “less” of an identity.
A Firewall could be considered a form of gatekeeper, Firewalls monitor traffic between headspace and front, as well as between sisasystems. This is to prevent Badwares, Graywares, and Infected Alters/Fragments from being able to travel between sisasystems or to front.
a kind of Grayware which, of course, spies on what the system is doing and steals the information. Now, the reasoning the Spyware is doing this can vary from Malicious or Harmful, to Neutral, to Beneficial. So here are examples for each:
Malicious or Harmful: The Spyware wants to give this data to random people or the abuser
Neutral: The Spyware just wants to know and collect this information, for no harm nor benefit.
Beneficial: The Spyware wants to be able to use the information to protect the system from potentially unknown triggers or harmful information they may encounter, or prevent alters that aren’t supposed to access certain information by spying on them. Etc.
A kind of alter which can cause problems within the system but there is insufficient consensus or data on whether they are a true “Badware”. Usually they do not exhibit the same infection behavior has true Badware, but that is not always the case.
