subtle system things that four does!

i hc four and the colors as being 5 separate people, 4 when split :D

randomly scowling and saying "shh." the chain thinks it's a vocal stim but there's actually a color who needs to shut up

very quietly hissing a color's name when nobody else can hear (an alternative to shushing)

letting a color speak with their voice when he's alone, then secretly panicking when he talks to another link while his voice is still stuck on a different pitch

having different stims, food preference, and mood depending on which color is influencing most at the moment

promising a color a treat if they behave, then getting frustrated if they disappear right before he gets it

getting overstimulated by too many colors talking, yes, but also sinking into major depressive episodes because "it's too quiet"

not responding to "four" right away because he's trying to unmuddle the colors

letting the colors sign their names beside his if the signature isn't for some important legal thing

being grateful for the chain because it feels natural to use 'we/us' pronouns and they just assume he's talking about the group

Hello! I know that most depictions are wrong, my friend complained about this lots, so I tried my best to find some Four focused fics that depict DID correctly. Unfortunately, system Four fics aren't very common

Obvious disclaimer I am a singlet, but I am friends with a system and I try my best to be as educated as possible on DID and OSDD

system four help by Nicoforlife - This fic was written by a system to show the fandom what Four would look like with correctly written DID. It only has one chapter currently, but the author is going to come back to it later when it's back in the fandom.

I don’t understand why jojo would have to state that her take on Four is an opinion. It’s not an opinion? It’s fact,it’s canon.

Four isn’t just Four sword adventure Link, he’s a very specific character from someone’s own original story. There’s a reason why we separate LU from regular LoZ posts - because we are talking specifically about this one story and not just FS Link in general.

Being upset that she clarified how her character works is messed up - it’s like going into someone’s fanfic and telling them that their interpretation is wrong and that they should be more mindful to the rest of the fandom.

It’s *jojo’s* story. This isn’t some creation that the whole fandom owns - it belongs to one person who just happens to share it with us. She’s allowed to make her characters however she wants. It’s not a matter of “opinion”. Its how her story works. Doesn’t matter that Link can be interpreted many ways - in this specific fandom, LinkedUniverse, *this* is how he works. If it’s not to your liking and you want to internet Link another way, fine, headcanon him all you want. But don’t get upset at jojo for being clear about her work because that’s rude AF and she doesn’t owe it to us to tailor her characters to our liking or leave it open to our interpretation.

If someone’s really doesn’t like it then they should abide by the golden rule of content - don’t like, don’t read.

However, in the future, please refrain from putting these statements in my inbox. I'm a Legend of Zelda/LU Shitpost creator, I only occasionally speak my opinion, so I'd appreciate it if you express your feelings on this matter elsewhere.

In truth, I stand completely neutral on this conflict. I only said what I did so I and others could have a clearer idea of why people are getting upset on this topic.

Not intended in a mean way, but jojo said she was just clarifying how the sword worked because people were asking about it. So I wouldn’t say that her answering how her canon works is “unwarranted” necessarily.

And even if she had decided to share how it worked in-universe (without further prompting from her fans) it feels a bit rude to write it off with a “no one asked, no one wants your explanation”. It is still jojo’s comic after all, everything in it is based on her interpretations.

Not that people have to agree with them of course (that’s the joy of headcanons as we all know) but I just feel like it’s a smidge unfair to treat her explanations like a personal slight?

I understand that, entirely so, but her wording did upset quite a few people. If she instead said it was just her own opinion, which I beileve she didn't mention at first, that would of been fine. I, personally, didn't really feel offended by it. I just said what I did in that post because I felt that the explanation came out of nowhere (which I know was wrong now).

Anyways, I think this situation shouldn't be lingered on. Jojo has formally apologised for it, so arguing about it won't do anything. I 100% understand your opinion on this though.
