Quick answer: ‘split personalities’ is another term for MPD / multiple personality disorder which an outdated medical term for DID/OSDD, and shouldn’t be used. The full/long answer is in the tiktok!

uhhh gosh... maybe when we get mixed up for each other?

sometimes we'll be on the phone with our partner system and someone will be like "hey [name]?" and the other will go "hold on that's not me"

one of my favourite examples would be wallace and barney & josh and adrian- they ALL have the same accent LOL

Are there any privacy issues between system-mates? Or is everything generally kept separate and there aren't any worries about that?

I'm wondering something about systems... I thought that a system breaks into parts of the person like a younger self and an older self, you know? But, I'm hearing it more like characters. Why is that/am I wrong?

Being a System and Splitting Alters is having multiple people in your head. I hihly recommend doing your own research ^^

Theres different kinds of alters/splits-- For example theres Introjects-- Introjects are people that split from some kind of source/media (real or fictional), and more commonly "brain splits" (FORGOT THE PROPER TERM SOBS)-- Who are just people who exist tm without any kind of source from outside media

there ARE core splits which can be like "older/younger" versions of the hosts, and alters vary in ages (ex.Littles who are younger alters)

tl;dr alters are just people tm

We specifically are an introject heavily system, hence why majority of the times you hear about introjects from us
