Maths is kicking peoples asses lately! They would want to sort themselves out¬¬ Nearly at Christmas now like. Your year is at a massive disadvantage because of it and there is nothing really ye can do about it.

It is! And the thing is, like, maths is definitely one of the subjects that I need to keep on top of because it's firstly not really one of my strong areas and secondly I feel like it's one of those things you can never really be FULLY prepared for. (well, for me, since majority of the time I literally don't have the emotional capacity to deal with it.) It's cruel. The only remotely "good" thing that can come out of it is that the papers can't be TOO hard, because department of education want to come out and say "Ooh! Project Maths, SUCCESS!" since everyone is kinda doubting it. But even at that, it's not concrete, and I'm kinda sorta in anguish about it.

Leaving cert is a test of memory not intelligence. And with the amount of PLC collages and ways to get into IT’s and Universities a bad leaving cert isn’t the end of the world. Stick to the past papers/sample papers. Know them and you’ll be grand.

That's so true! And yeah, thankfully there ARE backdoors and ways around it these days. Oh, exam papers are my saving grace. They're amazing, I wish I bought them in fifth year even. The only thing is the Maths sample papers haven't come out yet and our teacher say its useless to look over previous years because everything is so different. Which honestly sucks because our maths book isn't really an accurate indication of what comes up in the paper and I used to find papers so helpful, especially for maths, because I feel like for maths it's more about practicing over and over again rather than "studying".

The way the leaving cert is laid out you’d swear they try and make it harder¬¬

I have so many problems regarding the leaving cert. I mean the amount of PRESSURE in itself is insane-- first you have the leaving cert to worry about, and it's not like that's what you've been working towards your whole educational career or anything. And then you have people nagging you about what college course you wanna do, and then you have to worry about achieving those points (the points system is a whole other story, so fucking stupid and unfair). And it's just like, I feel like it's trying to teach you something: that learning from a dull book dictates who you are and how successful you will be, when that's not the case at all. It's like if you don't do well in your leaving cert, you won't do well in life. And that's just really narrow-minded and offensive towards people who struggle with learning and are better at practical work. 

I mean I hope the whole thing gets revamped at some stage. It makes me sad, mostly, because I really do believe there are people who are extraordinarily talented but their gifts are overlooked because apparently the leaving cert decides your intellectual capacity based on dumb ass overhyped exams and I ranted and I'm so sorry hahaha.
