“Are you going to be alright once this month is over?”
As if trying to decipher you, Seungcheol stares at you from across the room.
You’re not sure you could describe the way it makes you feel if you had to, with your chest tightening and your shoulders relaxing at the same time. There’s something in his eyes that makes your hands shake, and yet, somewhere in the jumbled mess of emotions, it also makes you let out a breath.
Being completely honest, you’re not quite sure of the effect Seungcheol has on you.
On one hand, there is something about him that makes you feel lost. Maybe it’s the world he belongs to, and the world he brings you into, something completely different from everything you’ve ever known. It’s a world of excesses, the kind that comes with having it all and still wanting everything else; and it’s also a world of plans that don’t fail, because somehow life has decided to not get in the way.
Maybe it’s the way he carries himself, always confident in his actions, as if every situation he encounters is something he already knows.
And somehow, there is also something about Seungcheol that makes you feel at home. You wonder if it’s because deep down you’re both the same — two lonely souls finding rest in each other, far too behind on life’s track race, barely keeping up with each other. You belong to two completely different worlds that are just beginning to mix in.
A giggle escapes your lips, and you decide that you don’t care if you haven’t figured it out yet. You have more than enough time to.
His eyes don’t leave yours, but his gaze softens.
You smile at him, and he returns the gesture.
“Oh, baby, trust me,” you retort, sitting up straight on the bed. His old college t-shirt hugs your frame, enveloping you in his scent. The TV keeps playing. “Once this month is over, you’ll be begging for me to stay!”

Deep in the forest, everything is quiet.
Yuta stands right next to you, a calm expression on his face, as if nothing about the night fazes him in the slightest. He looks comfortable, oddly familiar with the scene. His feet are planted firmly on the ground and his legs, contrary to yours, don’t shake.
His hand is no longer holding yours, but it hasn’t been ever since you walked out of the car. It now hangs down his side, completely relaxed.
It’s as if he’s not afraid.
You’re staring at him, and it’s almost as if you’re weren’t. There is something else going through his mind, and as much as it hurts, you know you’re just but a fleeting thought.
He stands right next to you, but it doesn’t feel like it. It’s like he’s miles away, a complete stranger not only to the situation, but also to you.
You’re staring at him, but he’s only looking ahead. Away.
You gulp, and close your eyes. A gush of wind meets your face, cold against your skin. Your hair falls over your face, disheveled. You raise your hand in search of a touch, and you find nothing.
You can feel a kiss being pressed on your lips, and it chills you down to your bones.

Nights, to you, roll out in technicolor.
They’re loud, violently so, always an orchestra composed by the revving of an engine and the holler from a friend. They’re bright, almost blinding, lit alive by an ensemble of neon signs and a chorus of headlamps. They’re what you’ve come to know, the thrill that comes along being the closest you’ve ever felt to home.
Nights, as you’ve grown to say, are an escape. They’re where you re-invent yourself, a new part of you coming out to the light every time you cross the finish line. They’re full of emotions, and as such, they’re where you’re free.
Free, and unhinged; and truly, unapologetically, yourself.
Tonight is no different. You sit on the hood of your car, feet dangling over the headlamps, laughter erupting from your throat at whatever joke Sangyeon was telling. You can hear Sunwoo’s challenging retort, words teasing and playful, tone perfectly matching the smirk adorning his lips.
Everything around you is a blur — sensations and emotions coming all together in an explosion of color, light, and music. It’s chaotic, made up of nothing but adrenaline, and it’s right then and there that you bring yourself to smile. Wild, whole-heartedly, almost fearless. Safe.
You turn around, laugh still hanging in mid-air when your eyes meet a stranger’s. And then, all that exists, is him.
Everyone knows that all is fair in love and war, but what happens when love and war are the same thing? The battle for the throne is never easy — and neither is the life of those who will fight for it.
Two houses watch upon the midnight hours in the streets of Seoul, their stories an endless fight of past and present. An ancient grudge is the ink in which their destinies are written, the ever-present ghost of spilled blood staining the hands of new foes.
In a written story a new chapter emerges — its protagonists being the restless souls of two people who should have known better than to try and tempt fate by giving love a chance, when nothing but hate could ever come out of war.

Diary entry, October 5th, 1920.
The case is lined as follows: the older brother is missing and there is no reason why.
The room has been checked, although to little avail. He left in a hurry and there are no signs of a fight. Everything is in order but little was taken (quick trip? Lack of planning?). There is a stack of bills on the pillow and a pair of shoes by the door. A newspaper cutting is the only thing adorning the walls, a headline dating eight years back. There is something eerie about the whole thing — was he looking for something? Someone?
The older brother never gave a clue of any future absence. Or at least, that’s what sources report. It is completely unclear why he would run away, leaving Wen Junhui, the family’s youngest, behind. And it is completely unclear why Wen Junhui would hire someone to look for his brother only to insert himself in the case so persistently. Perhaps...
It is clear that there is no crime without criminal. And looking so intently into the story, what has Wen Junhui to hide?
