Silver Lining ||with awolfofgold||

She’d made this trip countless times. She’d never had any issue. But tonight, Ayalea found herself facing off with four members of the Dawnguard, each baring silver weapons imbued with fire enchantments. Anything to make a vampire or other supernatural creatures suffer.
Two were already dead, but they’d done their damage; wielding crossbows and silver-tipped bolts, they’d managed to embed several into her skin, each drawing a great deal of pain. She pulled some of them out, but a few remained, digging further with each movement she made.
Another bastard was coming at her with a sword, and she was fending him off but with a bit of difficulty, still reeling from the burning sensation from her wounds. The fourth returned to his feet after convulsing on the ground for a while, suffering from a lightning bolt sent into his torso. He recovered and joined his fellow Dawnguard in attacking her.
The pair were difficult to fend off, and they landed several blows on her, leaving slices in her armor, revealing the lacerations on her skin. She now had numerous wounds on her arms and torso, but she fought through them, gritting her teeth.
Ayalea found an opening and drove her dagger into the neck of one of the attackers, catching the tip of his blade across her cheek. This left her vulnerable for too long, and the remaining member tried to take advantage and caught her left hip with his sword. She stumbled in her footing, and the man took notice.
He managed to drive his sword between her ribs, causing her to cry out in pain and fall to her back. In one last desperate attempt to end the fight, she expelled all of her remaining energy into a ball of fire and forced it into the face of the Dawnguard. It exploded around them, killing the man and sending flames across the ground and onto her own body. The fire left the area around her charred and a few marks on her face and exposed skin.
Her fingers wrapped around the blade in her chest and struggled to pull it out; the silver dug into her flesh, but she bit back the pain and continued until it landed on the ground. She rolled to her front and tried to push herself to her feet, but the attack had taken too much out of her, and she collapsed on the ground. Her cloak was draped over half her body, and her hood was over her head, her alabaster hair spilling out on the ground.
