Hey y'all. So we found out that apparently the line consisting of these lovely ghouls are called Sweet Treats, and not Dessert Ghouls..kinda. Allow me to explain..
So, according to the Monster High wiki, the line has gone under many names in multiple listings including both Sweet Treats and Dessert Ghouls, but the wiki refers to it as Dessert Ghouls because that was the earliest listing title and it makes sense for a contemporary MH line.
Funnily enough, my friend Ki was so used to the line being so expensive (I don't think Mattel made a lot of the dolls for this one) and being called Dessert Ghouls, that she thought the Cleo doll was the hardest to find! None showed up on eBay until we searched "Monster High Sweet Treats" on Google, and later found multiple listings for Cleo's doll in the box at around $30 including shipping.
We found Ari's doll for $23 and $40, both out of box and unfortunately, Catrine's doll was still $45-$55. Apparently she's gone for more, according to one Mercari seller's description. However, Ki managed to snag me one for $35 including shipping! And do you want to know how we found out about this line being called Sweet Treats?
..The sticker on the box in the seller's pictures said so!
Weird Avatar Thoughts
So, I was thinking about how each of the four elements have a subtype of that element they can control (ex fire can control lighting, water can control ice and blood, earth can control metal and lava, airbenders can control ???) and it got me thinking about what else they could control.
Firebenders can control lightning, but can also regulate body temperature very easily (ex zuko drying himself off and steam coming off of him). It’s also shown that some firebenders can just make shit explode (perhaps just an accelerated form of ignition?). But because they can control lightning, can they control other forms of electromagnetic energy?
Lightning and fire are both just plasma, so logically firebenders could control most other forms of plasma. If it’s not limited to just plasma, but is the whole electromagnetic spectrum, could a strong firebender could literally bend LIGHT.
Imagine for a sec, a lightbender. You could have someone create a whole ass lightsaber with their mind. A powerful lightbender could channel the sun’s light over a large area, nearly blacking out the sun, and then blast a beam of pure light. It would even fit well into the canon of avatar, as the original firebenders got their power from the sun!
IDK if I will do more of this type of post, but I do have some ideas for earthbenders and waterbenders
