The Land Cruiser is luxurious, quick, quiet, comfortable, and refined. Toyota's flagship SUV has the same smooth and powerful 5.7-liter V8 as the Tundra pickup. We tested it with the old six-speed transmission, and it proved to be thirsty for fuel, at 14 mpg overall; an eight-speed automatic transmission is now standard. The big Land Cruiser rides very comfortably, and the interior is roomy and well-finished. Expect terrific off-road performance, helped by a crawl mode to ascend and descend steep slopes. But on-road handling is rather clumsy. Automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard. Electronic connectivity is also updated, with Toyota's Entune touch-screen audio system standard. Reset timing belt replacement warning lamp as follows:
Switch ignition ON.
Ensure ODO/TRIP display set to ODO information.
Switch ignition OFF.
Press and hold ODO/TRIP display switch.
Switch ignition ON.
Wait 5 seconds.
Release switch.
Within 5 seconds press and release switch.
The setting value is displayed.
Press and hold ODO/TRIP display switch.
Wait more than 5 seconds.
Release switch.
Ensure ODO information displayed and warning lamp goes out.
