Cesare had only just recently been turned into a vampire. Despite it having been all he ever wanted, there was still a good amount of getting used to to do. But, just like at their start as a goth, what they needed to get accustomed and not feel so alone was to find community. He'd found that community after a good amount of searching and now he'd found somewhere full of people like him. They nodded, trying to truly process what the other was saying. He felt his body shake a bit before slowly looking him in the eyes. "When does it get easier? Taking a human life," he asked, voice somewhat shaky as his mind flashed back to the memory of his first human he killed so that he could live, the way the skin on that dead body looked like it was vacuum sealed around his body with not a drop of blood left in them.

Her mother said it would be good for her. To finally be settling down and starting a family. That she should be grateful the man was closer to her age than what her mother had been looking at in terms of suitors. He seemed nice, don't get her wrong. She just wanted to get married with love in mind. Not out of convenience.

However, after the announcement, she decided to tuck herself away in a small nook in the family library with one of her favorite books. She leaned her head against the wall as she let out a soft sigh.

@t0daysgoneby Grantaire nodded. "I asked, didn't I?" Sometimes, even he could care. "Contrary to popular belief, I do care. I care too much, sometimes, but I really do care." He couldn't focus anyway, so might as well have a talk. "In reality, I'm bored out of my mind, and I want to talk. Might as well. How's things?" He asked, curious, and glad for a distraction.

Sammi-Jo laughed. "Things are the same as always. Nothing really changes, right? Might as well fuck things up." If she was telling the truth, it wasn't like that, but she didn't know how to explain that.

Enjolras had spent the better part of the evening settled on a chair in the back room of the cafe Musain. In front of him sat an unopened letter that he had half a mind to return to sender. But for some reason he did not. Instead, he fixated on a map he was marking up with a neat script. Beside this map was a candle that was already halfway burnt through and a relatively untouched cup of coffee.

He could hear footsteps in the distance but he paid them little mind, after all this was a cafe and patronage was good for business.

“Oh, Grantaire,” he began as he made his way over to his friend, somewhat dramatic but with his best intentions. “Sometimes I wish you could see yourself as I see you. Brave, kind, gentle, caring.” He let himself fall down in the chair next to Grantaire. “The world would be a better place if more people had as good a heart as yours, my friend.”

“It is not my pity you are getting, Grantaire,” he answered, moving in closer to gently place his hand against the other’s cheek. “It is my care, my love for you, my appreciation, my adoration, my friendship, and I cannot ever stop that. You must know that by now. I care about you, always. Now please talk to me, tell me what happened.”

“There’s no time!” Vivienne snapped at the art student, as much as she could have used the medical attention. The guard was at the gates, reloading their muskets with blinding efficiency. The last shot had buried itself deep in Vivienne’s side, though she’d considered it lucky at the time. She wasn’t immediately dead, after all. 

She did have enough sense to try and get to cover, one hand going over the wound as the other held onto her spent pistol. “Grantaire, you need to get to cover, they’re going to fire again any minute...” she groaned, practically begging the man to leave her. Even if she lived to see the end of the battle, the chances of this wound healing were slim to none. But, she had come to expect this. While not particularly at peace with it, at the very least her death could mean something.
