Thanks. :) 13RW was my baby, and because I respect the book so much, I wasn't going to do it verbatim. I chose to do it the way I did it because I had a story I wanted to tell, and Jay Asher presented the best format.

Believe it or not, the most research I've done for this story is simply confirming things I already know. I did double check everything, but most of what you read is drawn from personal or secondhand experience.

Small Steps does get a bit soap opera-ey though. I'm working on pulling that back. I may have to rewrite a chapter or two.

i told myself i didn't want to read 13rw because i had read the original by jay asher and i have this wierd thing where i don't like reading stories verbatim. But my curiosity finally got the better of me and i read the prologue, then ch 1, and 2, and 3, and now i really can't stop. You have a gift for writing - it's extraordinary how 'lifelike' the characters are. I was expecting it to be verbatim but it wasn't. Your version is just so enticing and exciting and i've just started reading it (c)
