((Same as the ask to t0talmayhem and using them as a ref what would Mei do if Junkrat was in a coma?))

Day one - the first visit.
Mei walked slowly over to the bed where Jamison lay lifeless, countless wires attached to various parts of his body and bandages over stitched wounds. His lungs weren’t working alone, and he needed help with that, he needed help with much of what days ago he could do alone as any other human could naturally.
Inhale, exhale…
She reminded herself to breathe through the unsettled feeling in her stomach and continue smiling, this wouldn’t be forever.Sitting at the side of the bed there was nothing more the climatologist could do aside talk to him, hold his hand and tell him about her day.
Remain positive.
Day five - let’s read together.
Mei brought a book with her to the next visit, visiting every single day as often as she could. The third and fourth days she brought work with her just to keep some normality in her life but admittedly what part of it was normal? She would remember at random points in the day that shrill giggling that always made her laugh, those long arms wrapping around her in a surprise embrace. Her eyes watered at the thought, probably something in the air doing that… The heavy feeling in her stomach remained. The book she brought to read was Harry Potter, although it was a book she had read a million times alone she thought the magical tale would bring nice dreams to Jamison. Perhaps that would coax him to wake up, to hear more chapters. Then they could read together and enjoy each others company properly.
Day eighteen - the mission.
It was hard to explain to someone who couldn’t respond that you were going away for a week to Hanamura. It was hard to know that the seat normally occupied by the hyperactive junker would be empty, no one to cuddle into on the journey home or reminisce points of the battle from the defence line with. But this was how he came to be in the hospital, right? That stupid mission… They had each others backs but it didn’t work. Not like it usually did and that heavy feeling was now paired with deep regret. Why was it not Mei laying there? It was her fault for listening to him and going elsewhere, she shouldn’t have left him.She smiled through the tormenting emotions and held the young blonde’s hand as always, stroking it gently with her thumb and occasionally stroking his hair to make sure he knew she was around. Before leaving for that mission she placed a kiss to his forehead, the same as she did every time she had to depart. Leaving was the hardest thing.
Day fifty-nine - not the same.
Hope was dwindling… Still no signs of waking up. What if this turned into nine years? She would wait, of course she would wait. But it wouldn’t be nine years because that was completely different, there was someone to wake Jamison up this time and it had to be her. She would be there when he woke up. She would be stroking his hand and telling him about her day, comforting him, reading to him, kissing his forehead and just telling him it would all be okay.
This wasn’t the same. It wouldn’t be nine years.
Day ??? - don’t leave me.
“ … I don’t know how many days it’s been now, Jamie… Everything is blending into one. Today… Today Angela talked about your life support. I really need you to wake up now, okay? I really really need you to. I’m frightened without you, I don’t want to do this alone.” the tears were flowing, her hands were shaking, the words starting coming out with strangled sobs.
“Don’t leave me alone, Jamison, I’ll do anything…
Wake up…”
