“Hey,” Clarke said, gripping his arm a bit and not overthinking what she wanted to say, “I just realized I never got the grand tour of the house. Wanna show me around?”
“Sure, let’s do it.” Bellamy smiled at her and then stood, holding his hand out to help her up. She immediately tucked herself back into his side, adoring his warmth.
He showed her a bit around the property first. Towards the back of the yard they had a vegetable garden that Murphy was always stealing from for his kitchen. The pool was a new addition and he told her his plans to build a big, wooden deck around it to make it feel a bit more like it belonged and also give them some space to hang out. There was a tire swing that he had installed for his sister when they were kids, a dog run on the side that he swore would actually have a dog one day, and even some flowers and grass in the front of the house.
As they walked, she just drank him in. The last time they met she had been so focused on her anger and her release that she didn’t really get to know him. She loved the richness of his voice and the slight hint of an accent that made her wonder if he had been born somewhere else. He was polite and well spoken too.
Inside he showed her the kitchen and living room which she had already seen. At the end he showed her his office with floor to ceiling bookshelves for his many, many books. She looked them over, adoring the range of his collection, and then she turned and smiled.
“So basically you are just a massive nerd,” Clarke teased.
He blushed and the sight of his shy smile went straight between her legs. “Maybe a little. But yeah, that’s the house. It’s not much but I love it.”
Clarke didn’t give herself a chance to chicken out before she responded. “Don’t you want to show me your room?”
