Ten year old Robyn had declared to her aunt and mother that she was fine with staying home by herself while they went to her aunt’s vault to grab a few things for whatever potion they were working on. It took some convincing but she told them that grandma would be home soon so it’s not like anything bad was going to happen.
But she was wrong.
She was heading up the stairs to snoop through Henry’s old comics when her grandmother appeared before her. “Grandm-..” but the words died in her throat when she saw the blood seeping from her grandmother’s chest. Robyn’s heart seemed to be faster in her chest and it felt like she stood there staring at the blood for what seemed like hours but it was only a few moments before she was rushing forward to help her grandma.
“In the vault..they went..grandma..” tears welled in the girl’s eyes as she clutched tightly to her grandmother’s waist as she tried to lead her away from the banister.
“I can fix this..I..I..” her hands were shaking badly and she was’t the best at healing, only starting to learn the art of that kind of magic recently, but she would try her best to make sure that her grandmother stayed alive until her mother and aunt got home. She was not going to lose her grandmother. She was not.
