Synopsis:
The last of her family’s legacy, Roth Crims is taken to the palace to give the king and queen’s son’s prophetic future. Before she utters any words of misfortune or happiness, the palace is attacked by masked figures, seeking to steal the seer who hides their face. Protected by the one who she vowed to stay away from, Roth stays locked behind doors until someone comes knocking and she can’t say no to some fresh air. In the gardens, the prince asks for his future eagerly and Roth makes a grand mistake, earning her a place in the dungeons and doesn’t see the light of day until another attack pulls her out. Under the watch of someone new, Roth is treated as a prize and forced to see futures day after day. When she finally escapes, she faints at the island’s shores, seeking the warmth of the sun. That’s when she wakes up on a ship that never heard of the Woman With the Veil.
