Since I’ve been posting a little on my TAAOWA (The Animated Adventures of Wednesday Addams) AU here’s basically a quick rundown on what this AU is actually abt:
Essentially this is my concept for my own take on the Netflix Wednesday series after season 1, in the form of a cartoon series spinoff. As for the story itself, it follows season 1 (with a couple small retcons) but ignores season 2 onward and is set in a different continuity from them. The premise is pretty much Wednesday’s continued adventures after the Crackstone/Hyde incident, with her becoming a vigilante defending Jericho (which is retconned into being a major city instead of just a small town, with the parts we saw in the Netflix show being the Historic District on the city’s outskirts) from different threats monster-of-the-week/rogues gallery style, mainly more supernatural/out there stuff like outright supervillains or mad scientists, but also a good amount of more down-to-earth style foes as well. The style would be much more action-oriented and faster-paced than the Netflix series, with a lot of inspo from 90s action cartoons like SWAT Kats, Darkwing Duck (especially for some of the lighter-toned episodes), X-Men, Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Gargoyles, etc., with the tone ranging depending on the episode, having both more lighthearted comedy-focused stories along with darker and more complex ones, as well as gradually becoming more continuity driven as it goes on and developing an ongoing story, with a lot of the focus also being on Wednesday’s character development and mental health.
As for further details, feel free to ask any questions abt this AU if you’re curious (there’s kind of like a lot of lore and details I’ve come up with 😭). I’ll also be posting bits and pieces of info abt it sporadically.
