'visual essay on death'
this set of photo/gif/drawings have started with an instant reaction as an architect/designer/citizen
the emotional breakdown that I have experienced when I saw a demolition machine on top of the AKM building has made me feel as if that machine was tearing me apart.
it was such an iconic and triggering moment that I have produced this set of visuals that are standing instead of my words that is why I have called this trio my 'visual essay on death'
They are formed of 1 photograph that is zoomed-in, zoomed-out and cut to emphasize my different focus points and elements (with the repetition, framing, color change and digital manipulation)
For those couldn't follow this demolition and the story behind could look for with keywords such as Taksim meydanı Istanbul / AKM. This quick search would tell about the character and social memory/meaning behind this urban intervention in a public square
