Hello JapanLovers! Lara from USA sent us her contribution for the Tabemono (food) month! "Summer time in Japan means kakigoori (shaved ice)! The best place for shaved ice in Ebisu, Tokyo is a small shop behind the station called "Japanese Ice Ouca". Although the shop is small you're sure to find it immediately from the crowds out front! There's a line even on weeknights! They have adorable bear shaped shaved ice, with lots of syrup on top and yummy red bean paste and Japanese mikan orange slices at the bottom. I definitely recommend the strawberry shaved ice bear! But if you're not interested in shaved ice they also have a rainbow of gelato flavors to choose from, from green tea to tomato! Plus any order of gelato comes with a plain cookie and some konbu (seaweed- gotta love the contrast of salty and sweet). My favorite gelato flavor so far is watermelon, but my best friend loves the kabocha "squash/pumpkin" flavor " Thank you Lara! ☆ @mainichiphotos ☆ #japanloverme #japan #tabemono #tabemonomonth
