This has been the most exciting thing that’s been going on here recently. We found a mushroom growing kit and are now growing our very own mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus)! It took three weeks to grow the first ones, and more are to come. I wasn’t expecting much, and for the first week and a half it didn’t seem like anything was going to happen, but at about two weeks the first tiny mushroom babies were emerging, and now two of them are ready to be harvested. Temperature control has been a challenge, since after the first eight days they need to be in 15-18°C, which is a tad chilly for your bedroom, but that’s the only place we could keep them in since it’s way too cold outdoors and too warm indoors. So a window has to be kept open periodically to keep the temperature low. Perhaps they would grow in warmer temperature, but I’m trying to follow the instructions.
