This might be a weird question, but what size table cloth works best if you want it to drape all the way to the floor in the front of your table as well as the side, but be short where you sit? Standard table sizes are usually 6 x 2 ft., right?
Kiriska: Most tables are 30" tall and 30" across (2.5 ft), so 60" for the shorter dimension is usually sufficient, since you’re only covering the front side of the table. 6’ tables = 72" for the longer dimension.
I will usually go for at least 96" so I’m covered for the occasional 8’ table as well. And you can always go for longer if you want drape over the short sides of your table. 102" and 120" both work, though 120" is about the longest I’d suggest. Any more than that and things can get difficult to manage.
There’s a pretty useful tablecloth sizing chart and tool here, though of course keep in mind that it’s for normal use of table cloths, so drop lengths indicated are even on opposite sides of the table.
Nattosoup: For normal sized tables, a length of 3yds will cover the sides of your table, two lengths sewn together long end to long end will cover all the way to the floor.
