Quad biking is listed as being fairly dangerous – the risk being that when the bike flips the driver gets pinned below it. However, the quad bikes are heavy machines with a low centre of gravity – and whilst some of the angles taken by the bike over the dunes can look and feel like the bike will flip – it is highly unlikely. The key is to remember to follow the instructions carefully from the lead driver (you also get a chance to practice on some low level skill driving tasks). In saying so, the bikes do require a bit of strength to steer and maintain – so are most likely unsuitable to young kids or people who are unable to exert upper body strength. The main feature of Table Mountain is the level plateau approximately 3km from side to side, edged by impressive cliffs. The plateau, flanked by Devil's Peak to the east and by Lion's Head to the west, together with Signal Hill - forms the natural amphitheatre of the City Bowl and Table Bay harbour. The highest point on Table Mountain is towards the eastern end of the plateau and is marked by Maclear's Beacon.
