A new survey from Gartner, who previously predicted that Apple would reign supreme until 2015, has revealed the Android has taken 62% of the tablet OS market share.
What helped Google’s OS is their wide range of tablet options: more affordable, smaller screen Android tablets means more sales. Google’s own Nexus line of tablets probably help account for many of these sales.
Next, we look at the User Interface. Once again the markedly different approaches contrast the two Mobile OS’s, the Android’s app display can be customized with a simple drag and drop function, apps can be pulled from the Application Tray an alphabetical list of all available apps and dropped anywhere on the five panes that come standard allowing for dedicating a pane to a certain theme such as social networks or games. We could compare Windows’ two screens to the Androids’ five but remember Windows has focused on fast, efficient information delivery so that you spend less time on your phone not more. All in all if it’s an abundance of app choices you’re looking for then the Android is your bet, if you’re looking for efficiency then go with Windows.
In Conclusion, the two clearly excel in certain areas an both provide a stable platform for Tablet computing but the bottom line is it depends on preference, for the entertainment fueled, the app-centric Android is invariably the best choice with its 100,000 app strong Market and high customizability, while The Windows Phone OS is the go to system for business oriented individuals who need reliable computing power on the go. I hope this has been a helpful if not extensive cross section of Tablet Computing; comments are always welcome Feliz Navidad
